Donut Box Promo

I was inspired to make a donut in Daz Studio the other day, with the challenge of doing it entirely with Daz tools. It was a lot of fun, part of which was to think outside the box and apply logic as we so often need to do when working in 3D. I wanted to share the process with everyone, so Daz and I decided to use this as a topic for a live stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYPH4xD8_F8

The donut is a torus primitive with optional Push Modifier, while the icing is done with a plugin called Matera. It create geometry on top of an existing object, like snow on a landscape. With a few adjustments it's the perfect icing generator. It doesn't leak down on the edges though, so we'll whip out Hexagon and make it drip. The last piece of the puzzle is sprinkles. Those are small cylinders, replicated along the icing surface with UltraScatter.

It's easy to make variations of the donut (with or without sprinkles, different shaped sprinkles, different icing, simple rotations and so forth). To how off a few of them, I've built a small box in Blender and rigged up the lid in Daz Studio so we can open and close it. Follow along and show us your best donuts on social media with #DazDonut 🍩
